Shrimp Fried Rice Recipe

Easy as 1 2 3!

Today, my honey wanted me to make his favorite dish, shrimp fried rice.  I have an awesome recipe I made up for  anyone to try.  It’s easy as 1 2 3.  I know you all are busy so I’m going to go ahead and start.

 

Ingredients:

3 TBS of olive oil

½ cup sliced yellow onion

2 jalepenos (dependent on how much spice you want and you can use any peppers you like) chopped

1 tsp of minced garlic

¼ cup of chopped cilantro (optional)

Salt for taste (you decide how much you like)

Black pepper for taste (you decide how much you like)

¼ tsp of oyster sauce

3 TBS of Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce

2 eggs

½ lemon  (squeeze the juice out of it)

1 – 2 cups of shrimp deveined and tail off

2 cups of long grain white rice or you can use brown rice

How to Make Shrimp Fried Rice

Now that you have all your ingredients you need do the following:

In a mixing bowl add squeezed lemon juice to the clean shrimp and let it sit for about 15 min.  You will see the color of the shrimp change from gray to red.  The lemon is actually being absorbed by the shrimp.

  • Make your rice first.  Just follow the instructions on the rice box.

While that sits you can cut up your ingredients like the onions, jalepenos, garlic and cilantro.

  • Add 2 TBS of olive oil to your wok or pot on high heat for one minute then decrease it to med hi
  • Add the minced garlic mix it with the oil decrease heat if the wok or pot is too hot
  • Add the shrimp within 40 seconds of adding the garlic, stir them together
    • Shrimp will turn red as it cooks
    • Now add some black pepper mix, oyster sauce mix and the Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce mix well.  The water that is released by the shrimp should be sizzling at this point if it’s sizzling too much decrease the heat.  As soon as some of the soupiness disappears add the onions and jalepenos mix well
    • Don’t overcook the onions
    • Add rice 2 cups of cooked rice to the mix and stir it into the pot mix the shrimp and rice really well.
    • Let the rice and shrimp mixture cook for about 5 min while you are mixing it.  Now in the same pot or wok move the rice n shrimp mixture to the side of the pot and add a little bit more of olive oil to the empty side of the pot about 1 TBS decrease the heat  to medium add 2 eggs
    • Let the 2 eggs cook until you see the white part start cooking a little not all the way then break mix the egg on that side of the pot without touching the rice.
    • Once the egg is mixed and almost cook then mix the eggs with the rice n shrimp mix for 5 min add salt for taste and you are done.
    • Put the shrimp fried rice in a nice plate and garnish with cilantro.
    • The most important part eat it with someone you love.  Yourself, your dog or cat, or your family

I hope you all enjoyed my Shrimp Fried Rice.  I have made many versions before and this one is the best.  I made this recipe myself.  I always wondered how they made it so good.  I have good taste buds so I can figure out what ingredients are used in many foods when we go out.
